@michal I definitely understand this, the "unread" count makes it feel like a chore rather than a point of access.

The way I have come to use it is more as a general "this persons site has been updated" notifier, I rarely read the fulltext and just go directly to the site. I also use it to manage my YouTube subs. I don't use it for large news sites otherwise I tend to get overwhelmed.

As for the unread counter, I just made it less visible in MiniFlux, and go directly to the categories section than the raw feed.
