My Windows 98/DOS machine (Pentium 3 866MHz) is having some odd issues, like when trying to play the game would either lock up or the entire computer would hard-reset.

Not entirely sure what may be going on, I swapped out the motherboard with another board I have that has a slot-loading style Pentium 3 500MHz, and the game runs perfectly. Huh.

It could just be that the 866MHz P3 is just too fast for this game —it requiring a mere 386 @ 20MHz, after all!— but at least one of this board's capacitors looks rather suspect, so I wonder if that's the reason.

Today the replacement capacitors I ordered to recap both both boards came in. They're both old enough to benefit from it, after all, so even though the one with the 500MHz CPU appears to run fine, I'd like to give both an extended lease of life if I can.

Looks like it's time to whip out the ol' soldering iron again!
