This is my new, future account. While most interaction still happen on the bsd.cafe one, I aim to migrate fully here.

I am posting mostly culture, emacs, bsd and anti-ai based ramblings. I don't curse and I try not bait people into pointless anger rages.

I am a nerd (or dork? I don't know), a software engineer and I started to hate what technology has bacame.

This is a self-hosted, single-user instance running on snac2.

If you look at the list of people who donated a million each, you'll find DHH's business partner (Jason Fried), the CEO of Shopify, where DHH is on the board (Tobi), and other people close to him.

It's safe to assume most of them — maybe except Dell and Cloudflare ­— would not have donated to Linux-related projects that DHH is not involved in.

            @michal LLMs are extremely useful for coding.

            Code review / finding bugs is a particularly good use case, since false positives are benign.

            I figure they're also really good at locating the source of a bug when it's reported, if that's what you mean with solving their problems.

              They can be. They are not the panacea for everything. DHH mentioned that they want to scan every new version of a package in their own package repository, which is to supersede AUR. It's not feasible on any scale.
