God Emperor of Mastodon (new account)

This is my new, future account. While most interaction still happen on the bsd.cafe one, I aim to migrate fully here.

I am posting mostly culture, emacs, bsd and anti-ai based ramblings. I don't curse and I try not bait people into pointless anger rages.

I am a nerd (or dork? I don't know), a software engineer and I started to hate what technology has bacame.

This is a self-hosted, single-user instance running on snac2.

One thing I dislike about sitcoms is their disregard for continuity.

Evidence A: Fraiser. On multiple episodes we see a beautiful Mac classic (128?) in his bedroom. He never uses it. But, the first time we see him in front of a computer, it's a Compaq laptop - the same Roz uses a few scenes before. Why would he use it to write his own obituary? I know why - because the scene should happen in his living room to add the rest of Crane family there, but damn. At least Seinfeld used his desktop!

On the happier side: whenever I remind myself about https://youtu.be/_ZLhKRGDNi8?si=utiGhd4LFdyYoPgm&t=63 I smile. But I'm also sad, because I will not notice such things in the future because no one has time to follow a zillion Netflix shows with 5 years between series.
