This is my new, future account. While most interaction still happen on the bsd.cafe one, I aim to migrate fully here.

I am posting mostly culture, emacs, bsd and anti-ai based ramblings. I don't curse and I try not bait people into pointless anger rages.

I am a nerd (or dork? I don't know), a software engineer and I started to hate what technology has bacame.

This is a self-hosted, single-user instance running on snac2.

@michal When I visit, it says USD $549. Which seems like a lot for what it is.

And I'm curious about the image. I get Shakespeare, but Asimov? And I have no idea who the other faceless one is supposed to be.

It's probably better/faster/cheaper to get an old Palm III, and use Graffiti instead of this. Fits in a shirt pocket as well.

    Oh, I'm sure it is. There's a growing niche of premium dumb-electronics now. What we had for cheap (and left for a shiny new surveillance device) we can get again, just expensively. Just look at "dumb" phones.

      @michal Just checked eBay (and I know that's not great for Poland), but the unit is $30, and a cradle (for moving things on/off) is $15.

      No tracking. No internet. No ads.

      (I used mine for calendar and ebooks, mostly. Thinking about starting to use it again.)
